NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR FLTA AWARDS 2020 @theflta

The Fork Lift Truck Association is calling all entries for the annual prestigious event to be held on Saturday 21st March 2020.

Now in its 26th year, the FLTA Awards for Excellence is the longest running industry awards presentation of its kind, and is a highlight of the materials handling event calendar.

The Awards are free to enter and importantly, companies can self-nominate, allowing them to put forward the initiatives and products that they are most proud of.

There are several categories, but the Pick of the Year accolades for Safety, Innovation, Ergonomics and Environment, are the most sought after.

Nominations for these are open to companies who have launched products or services between 1st October 2018 and 30th September 2019.

“The FLTA Awards are a fantastic opportunity for manufacturers to showcase the incredible advances they have been making in the industry,” said Tim Waples, Chief Executive of the FLTA. “We want to celebrate achievements and mark the importance of working together to continually raise standards.”

At the 2019 ceremony, Baumann won the Environment Award for its hydrogen-powered compact H2GX60 sideloader.

Mark Bann, Managing Director of Cavaion Baumann UK Limited, said: “At Baumann we’re continually innovating and developing new products, so it was fantastic to win the Environment Award and for our work to be acknowledged when there was such strong competition from big names in the industry. The publicity we have received from the FLTA Awards has been brilliant for raising our company profile and has led to lots of new customer interest into our environmental technology.”

Other previous winners include Combilift, who received the 2019 Safety Award for its Powered Pallet Truck, due to the potential to replace counterbalance trucks and enhance safety in pedestrian areas.

Martin McVicar, Managing Director of Combilift and Aisle Master, said: “As manufacturers, we are confident that our products are in a class of their own, but to have this confirmed by the FLTA and its panel of expert judges with an award is invaluable recognition from the industry.

“Forklift safety is paramount, so it was an honour to win this category in 2019. Combilift has won many awards but we regard the numerous Archies we have on display as the most significant!”

The Awards for Excellence offers nominees the chance to receive well-deserved appreciation from peers and the public. Winners are presented with an industry-renowned Archie statue to keep on site, as well as a personalised Awards logo for use on company materials and exhibitions, showcasing their win long into the future.

Nominations close on 30th September 2019. For full details on how to enter, and to find more information on the required criteria, visit fork-truck.org.uk/flta-awards/enter-the-flta-awards
